There seems to be a total lack of "music" in today's film songs.. Electronics has overtaken melody and lyrics.. No wonder the blog is drying up............ :(
I think this is the matter of perception. We still do have melodies living.. like kaatrin mozhi , tere bina(guru), aye hairathe aashique, vizhiyil(kireedom)..etc..but like I said its a matter of perception. No one to be blamed.
I agree with you that music and lyrics especially are not as appealing anymore. I saw an interview on youtube recently where Lata Mangeshkar said the same and added that since computers can fix so many flaws in singing, the incentive to do the job right is less and less. I feel that to avoid being labeled as belonging to a certain era or feeling lost in the audio visual overload that is being presented today, we must take a page from Asha Bhosle's book..she keeps changing with the changing times and survives.
