pattupetti

pattupetti

A New song--
Malayalam music would seem to be in a revival of sorts, if one listens to "Nottam" "Amrutham" and "Out of Syllabus". But these are exceptions. Most of the other songs are visual rather than musical!
Amidst all the cacophony that passes off as songs these days, a song from Out of Syllabus set in Hindusthani Ghazal style caught my attention. Here goes the lyrics:-

Eee kalpadavil Eee marathanalil
Orikkal koodi nee irunnengil (2)
Oru venal muzhuvanum adarunna pookkalaal
Iniyum ninne njaan moodiyene

Eee Kalpadavil -----

Oru varsha sandhyathan paribhava-bhangiyaay
Mounamaay vannuvengil (2)
Oru mazhakkalam ninakku njaan thannene
Athiloru minnalaayi padarnnene ( 2)
Padarnnene

Eee Kalpadavil--------

Himabindu choodiya poovithalaayi nee
Shishirathil veendum unarnnengil (2)

Hrudayathil aalum chuvappu njaan thannene
Uyirile choodum pakarnnene (2)
Pakarnnene

Eee Kalpadavil----

Ini varum kaalam, ariyaatha paathakal
Oru binduvil vannu chernnuvengil
Ithuvare parayaatha priyarahasyam
hrudaya dalangalil kurichene

Eee kalpadavil------- Moodiyene
Eee kalpadavil----- irunnengil.
